Each Time You Allow Your Phone to Interrupt You, You Weaken Your Focus

Robin Sharma Season 1 Episode 1135

We live in an age where our attention has become a most valuable commodity. You know this. We all hear about this. Yet, do you fight for your focus?.

Each time you allow your phone to interrupt you, you weaken your focus. Each moment you spend scrolling through someone else’s life is a moment stolen from building your own. The cost of distraction is not just time—it’s your dreams, your genius, your legacy.

The world doesn’t need more people chasing likes or watching others live.

It needs you—fully alive, fully engaged, doing work that matters. Napoleon Bonaparte said, “The battlefield is the mind.” Win the war against distraction, and you sort of win everything.

So, take back control. Schedule your work and protect it like your life depends on it—because it does.

Turn off the noise. Work in blocks of uninterrupted time. Step into the rare-air of those who create, while others consume.

I see a lot of people and it's not judging them, it's just observing them. Every time their phone rings, they check it. Or they have these loud notifications, so they're constantly being distracted. And we know what the research says. The research says we spend 2.1 hours a day in distraction. And it takes 21 minutes to refocus your focus after you've been distracted. So if you are being distracted by notifications, checking your phone, checking your Facebook feed, looking on Instagram, checking all the different platforms, that is gonna destroy your focus. Be very hard to reach during key times of your week.
